This approach utilizes traditional therapeutic recreation practices outlined by the NCTRC but was designed to elevate standards of care and the client experience in the comfort of their home.
This procedure was developed from personal values, beliefs, and lived working experiences. There are three fundamental principles to this approach, kinship, independent choice and comfort of home.

At KIN TR...
Kinship is the fundamental building block to fully understanding your loved one. The information you share creates a deeper & transparent understanding of your kin member. In turn, producing higher quality care from the CTRS provider.
~
You will feel apart of your loved ones care and you are able to make a difference in their lives.

At KIN TR...
Restoring independence and respecting personal choice are elements to care that KIN TR strives to provide. During each session, the CTRS will give your loved one their independence and control back. Sessions are curated surrounding
their time, happiness, and wants.

The initial start of the APIE process begins with ASSESSMENT. The CTRS will administrated assessments on all health domains including;
Sensory, Cognitive, Social, Physical, Affective, Leisure and Functional Skills. Secondary sources such as, client background history & medical records will also be addressed.
~

With a baseline understanding of your loved one, the CTRS will create an individualized treatment plan that identifies, addresses, and PLANS for implementation through purposeful recreation activities or leisure education.
Thorough documentation will be completed and presented.
~

The client & CTRS then determine which program(s) would be most beneficial for each client.
Selected programs will be analyzed by CTRS to address goals and objectives and or modifications to ensure maximum participation in program.
Recreation pursuits will then be IMPLEMENTED.
~

Once the program is implemented an EVALUATION of the program takes place.
Evaluations will occur formatively - ongoing during program and summatively - conducted at the end of the program. Program(s) will be evaluated on, effectiveness of desired outcomes or goals, success of program, and quality of service delivery & improvements.
~

The final stage of the APIED process is DOCUMENTATION. This creates quality progress tracking of clients goals, responses to therapy and show essential information needed to adjust treatment plans. Effective documentation supports the therapeutic process, enhances patient care, and maintains professional standards.
